Public Safety Officers of the Year Program

The Exchange Club of Richmond Hill has sponsored a program since 1991 for recognizing outstanding public safety officers that serve and protect our community. For the past several years, we have been pleased to recognize firemen, law enforcement officers, and emergency medical technicians.  All of these individuals, and their fellow public safety officers serve our area through their hard work and dedication, and make Bryan County a safer and better place to live and raise our families.

Recipients of the Richmond Hill Exchange Club Public Safety Awards for 2013:

Bryan Co. Firefighter of the Year - Ian Zieba
Bryan Co. Paramedic of the Year - Henry Lewis (unable to attend)
Bryan Co. Emergency Medical Technician - Amy Mason

Bryan County 911 Dispatcher - Linda Wilkes

Richmond Hill Firefighter of the year - Randy Monaco

Richmond Hill Police Department Officer of the Year - Cpl. Brad Sykes

Deputy of the Year for Bryan County Sheriff’s Office was Robert Crapse

(Deputy Crapse was killed in the line of duty in June, 2012, and was represented by his mother and daughter)

These fine officers were recognized at our Annual Public Safety Officers Banquet held on March 27, 2013. The 2013 Awards Banquet was well-attended, with over 50 people in attendance. President Bob Whitmarsh did an outstanding job of handling the introductions and presentations. All of these recipients, and the other public safety personnel they represent are owed a sincere thank you from the citizens they serve and protect.
